ABOUT
Michelle Brøndum (she/her) is an award-winning Producer and the founder of Jante Films; a company which seeks to create bold, genre-bending, and provocative cinema. She has over 10 years of experience in production and has previously worked at companies such as RANGE MEDIA PARTNERS and FORTY FOOT PICTURES. She also holds an MA in Producing from the prestigious National Film and Television School.
Michelle’s work includes Royal Television Society Award winning short REQUIEM starring Bella Ramsey (THE LAST OF US) and Safia Oakley-Green (BIFA Breakthrough Performance 2022), which was broadcast on Channel 4 and acquired by Gunpowder and Sky, amassing over 900K views online; the BAFTA-shortlisted environmental documentary short STORIES OF YOU AND I, starring Jonathan Pryce; and the short animation OTHER HALF, which was in official competition at the 74th Cannes International Film Festival.
She has also worked as a Production Manager on big theatrical features in Denmark, such as THE EXCEPTION, HACKER and LOVE AND OTHER CATASTROPHES, and recently line-produced the feature documentary SCALA!!!.
In 2022, Michelle furthermore produced her first feature under Jante; the documentary THE OTHER FELLOW, exploring the lives of real men around the world named James Bond. The film was theatrically released in 2023, and was nominated at several prestigious documentary festivals, including DocEdge and DOCVILLE.
As a queer woman, Michelle is interested in cultivating a collaborative work-environment that operates on a horizontal hierarchy. She specialises in co-productions and is currently in production on BAFTA-nominated Ida Melum’s next animation titled OVARY-ACTING, which is a UK co-production with Sweden and Norway.
